Areas of Responsibility

January 17, 2011 | 14 Comments

‘Areas of Responsibility’ is a way to separate the different areas of your life. Some examples might include: Work, Home, and Hobby.  When in an Area, you will only see the tasks and projects that pertain to that Area.

To access an Area, simply click on the “All Areas” rectangle on the top left corner of the screen.  A list of Areas should show up.  If you’d like to create a new Area or edit an existing Area, choose the last option.

To add a new Area, simply add the new Area name to “Add New Area” field and hit the ‘Enter’ key.  To edit, change the name in the existing Area field and hit the ‘Enter’ key.

I’m in my 1st day of 15 day trial. I just added 4-5 AORs but when I click the AOR rectangle box I don’t see my AORs listed? Is this feature turned on when I convert to “paying customer”?

You should have a fully working copy even before you buy. Please reload your web browser to see if that helps. If not email us through the feedback form so that we can look in to it further.

There was a bug where if you are using IE 7 or 8 you might not have seen them. Reload your web browser and try again and it should be working for you.

Is it possible to change the area of responsibility for a project after the project has be generated? I don’t find how to do it..

Now that tyhere are areaas, how do I move exsisting tasks into the new areas I have set up?

You can double click the task and change the area or you can put the task in a project that is in an area.

    Hai Mike

Is there any way of selecting multiple Areas of Responsibility. For example I have 5 Areas of responsibility Finance, HR, IT, Quality, Personal. While at work I am only interested in seeing the first 4 and not the personal tasks mixed up. Currently we need to look at each of them seperately since we cannot choose only 4 out of the 5. It is either All Areas or any one of the above…

One way you might want to set this up:

    Area 1 – Personal
    Area 2 – Work

Set up Smart Group or Project for each of the work areas
    - Finance
    - HR
    - IT
    - Quality

This way you can get an overview or go into each project or smart group to get the breakdown.

Mike, I have many subprojects within Finance, HR etc which requires the projects area to be used. Hence since there is no option for subprojects the above option might not work for me unless there could be a different way..

    Hi,
I had two Areas, called Jobbet and Hemma.
I changed their names to Arbete and Personligt, when done all of my tasks, projects…everything had disappeared!?!?!?!?!?

Was this on the website or mobile app? If you click on ‘All Areas’ do they show back up?

Hey there – on the main page where I manage my info, I can see via the box on the right anything that has no tag, & I can – if I can remember them all – start typing & quick fill those boxes. I can drag tasks to projects or other days. But the only way to add responsibility is to dbl click each entry. I would be great to have the res. tab on the top left expand like projects & smart groups, so one could more easily assign – just by dragging. Any chance of this happening? Or something like it to avoid having to open the whole task? Thanks.

We need a way to find tasks that do not have an Area of Responsibility.
